Pleasing Government Commerce

I heard about this on the radio, and thought it was pretty funny. Apparently the Office of Government Commerce in England ordered the new logo to:


...signify a bold commitment to the body’s aim of improving value for money by driving up standards and capability in procurement.


For £14,000, here's what they got:



... but if you turn it sideways ...



... you get a whole 'nother meaning! I doubt they'll be erecting any signs with the new logo anytime soon. ;-)

They'll be scared stiff when they find that out.

I'm sure the artist worked hard on it.

You see, that's the thing. it is made out of wood.

The artists were Thomas Johnson and S. Hampton.

At least they're being honest about their business goals...or their employment benefits.

Or are they bragging about their skills as fishermen?
